ROLE DESCRIPTION

This is a rare opportunity for a proven and inspirational school leader to lead a truly outstanding upper school within an award-winning, progressive and sustainability-focused school. A successful candidate will:

● Define leadership as a way to empower the people they manage through clear, concise and consistent communications to facilitate community-based and values-driven decision-making

● Always starts with students first by seeking to know and understand all students, their goals and how they learn; allowing educators to plan for and implement effective education

● Build a collaborative learning community within which students, faculty, and staff feel a sense of belonging and a joy for learning

● Connect deeply with staff and students and uphold a welcoming, safe and respectful culture

● Participate fully in the family of Green Schools, as well as the larger EiM family of schools - , providing leadership, sharing expertise and collaborating with colleagues

group-wide;

● Establish strategic relationships and partnerships to support Green School’s Way of Learning, Mission, Vision and Values

● Lead all aspects of resource management in the Upper School, weighing teacher, student and classroom needs against environmental considerations

● Promote an optimistic, caring and responsible approach to Digital Citizenship among students both in and out of the classroom

● Work with National Principals to co-manage effective, nourishing and impactful learning neighborhoods in Upper School

● Set a culture of joyful learning, purpose-seeking and high integrity

● Ensure that all students achieve their potential through learning experiences which are designed to meet individual needs and build transferable knowledge, skills and values

● Serve diligently as the Child Protection and Compliance Officers for their Learning Neighborhoods (Middle School and High School), which requires engaging with a

wide team but managing these situations on behalf of their Learning Neighborhoods

● Has a love for the natural world and a commitment to more sustainable living - personally and professionally

● Work with specialists and National Principals to guide students through a time of significant intra and interpersonal growth - both emotional and physical - as well as finding their purpose-driven path forward

● Believes that they are personally a learner first themselves


PERSON SPECIFICATION

● A highly capable and proven educational leader with significant experience in international contexts

● An outstanding educator and respected leader of learning, with a track record of delivering improvements to teaching and learning and fostering a culture of student

empowerment and impact-driven learning

● An effective collaborator, eager to listen deeply, and to lead and contribute to a community in the pursuit of shared goals

● Resourceful, adaptive and resilient, eager to embrace personal and collective growth and learning;

● Culturally-aware and willing to navigate within cross-cultural and multicultural norms and expectations

● An effective community-builder who values all stakeholders and invests in each year level in order to contribute to the success of the overall student experience

● A champion of lifelong learning and professional development to continually equip our educators to best meet student needs

● Adept at recruitment and all aspects of staff development

● Inspiring trust and confidence amongst families through relationship-building, which includes strong spoken and written communication

Longlisted candidates will be invited to interview within the third week of December. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview with the Green School Bali community the week of January and the first week of February. The process will be completed by February 24, 2023.

An appointment will be made subject to receipt of satisfactory references. The appointed candidate will be offered a salary that is commensurate with their experience and the seniority of their new role.
