We are looking for someone to be Head of the Virtual School in Bradford. The successful candidate will lead, support and challenge local and out of authority schools and partners to secure the best possible educational outcomes for children and young people in the care of the local authority.

You will have experience of developing and challenging local authority policies and practices in order to promote and support the best possible outcomes for children in care and previously looked after. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated strong and effective leadership in a school, a local authority or other professional senior role.

You will be passionate about promoting the attendance and educational attainment of children in care and care leavers, celebrating their successes and improving life chances for all young people in care.

You will have an excellent understanding of the social care and educational legislation pertinent to children in care and previously looked after and will use your initiative and imagination to unblock significant barriers to the educational successes of children and young people looked after and previously looked after.

You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to produce clear evaluative reports. You will also be able to provide high levels of support and challenge and be committed to supporting the wider priorities of Children’s Services.
