Head of Year 4

Summer Fields is one of the premier boys’ prep and pre-prep schools in the country, situated in 70 acres of superb grounds in North Oxford. The school has an excellent academic reputation and is extremely well resourced.

We seek an experienced primary-trained teacher to lead Year 4 and to teach English and mathematics to one of three Year 4 classes, as well as one other National Curriculum subject to pupils in other year groups; also to contribute fully to the games, activities and further co-curricular programmes. 

The successful candidate will have leadership responsibility for the Year 4 teaching team and will be expected to ensure the smooth and successful running of the year group. He or she will play a key role in the general life of the school: looking after the boys, engaging with parents and promoting the school more widely. He or she will work closely with the Head of the Pre-Prep and her team to ensure a smooth transition for pupils from Year 3. 

This opportunity will appeal to someone with aspirations for further career development into school leadership. The successful candidate will ideally be trained to Primary PGCE level and be willing to take on a full and active part in the day-to-day life of a busy boarding and day school.
