Job overview

MPR/UPR

Do you have a real passion for inspiring students?  This is your opportunity!

Join our brilliant Pastoral department in September 2018 at Greensward Academy and benefit from the following:

  • A sense of community with caring staff and fantastic students
  • Great training opportunities where we do everything we can to help you develop your practice
  • A culture which values mutual respect, honesty and kindness
  • An employer who will look after your well-being, even paying for your private health insurance

We are particularly interested in application from candidates with the following subjects: Geography; PE (Female) and MFL – Spanish with French

There are 156 reasons to be a teacher and we truly believe that Greensward Academy is a great place to work. There are no unwieldy and impossible marking policies, departments are trusted to develop the methods of providing feedback that best suits their subjects. This ranges from whole class feedback sheets to target code marking. The policy is simple and in essence is just that feedback must be regular, timely and most importantly lead to students acting upon the teacher’s suggestions.

Your career development is a priority and we will provide you with opportunities to work on whole school priorities and gain the experience required to progress into middle or senior leadership. Additionally, we offer support for middle leaders wishing to apply to become Specialist Leaders of Education. As a member of a large academy chain you will have access to some of the best subject based CPD and resources available with training delivered by national experts.

Student behaviour is excellent and is supported by same-day whole-school sanctions where necessary, and senior leaders have a high profile to ensure that you are supported to develop. This year we have introduced centralised detentions run by the leadership team to ensure your time is spent on planning really good lessons rather than running detentions.

We are ambitious about fulfilling our vision to be one of the strongest performing schools in the county whilst always managing the welfare and work life balance of our staff to the extent that we pay for private health insurance for you to access. We are committed to providing our students with the best possible learning experience whilst ensuring that our staff have increased job satisfaction and quality of experience. If our approach and values match yours we welcome visits to the academy at any time and encourage you to apply.

About the School

To work at Greensward Academy is to work at a school which puts the child at the centre of everything that we do. If a student’s strength lies in academic rigour, they will be challenged. If it lies in sporting prowess they will be developed. If it lies in creative expression, they will be inspired. The opportunity to work alongside engaged, motivated and resilient students, including those in the highest performing Sixth Form in Essex, is one to be valued.

As a school, we understand the importance of instilling a sense of community into those who pass through our care whilst at the same time ensuring that, when they leave us, they are ready to shape our globalised world. With an emphasis on good manners, tolerance and acceptance, Greensward Academy can be rightfully proud of its students and staff. With our new buildings and open spaces, a dynamic curriculum offering opportunity for all and a pastoral care which sees everyone as an individual, we are confident that we have the right learning environment to ensure our 21st century learners are ready to embrace the challenges of our 21st century world.
