Head of Year (non teaching)

£21,962 - £26,822 FTE, £18,561 - £22,669 actual salary
37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year + 5 days

We are looking to appoint a highly skilled and dedicated leader who is able to inspire students to achieve their very best at a personal and academic level. 

The successful candidate will possess the necessary interpersonal skills thus enabling them to establish trusting, supportive and effective working partnerships with young people, parents and carers. 

We are looking for a Head of Year who:

• Will oversee and support the pastoral and academic progress of the students in their year group, taking the strategic lead role to deliver student success
• Will support, challenge and engage a diverse cohort of students, enriching their learning experience, maximising their potential and raising attainment

We started the new academic year strongly following our best set of results in 4 years. We have increased our Basics measure of English & Maths GCSE grade 4+ with a Progress 8 score of -0.06 that’s a real school improvement and we have seen a significant increase in the number of students staying with us into sixth form.

After a period of instability at the Academy we are pleased to say that our journey of improvement is well underway.  We have been joined by some outstanding teachers who will help us ensure that our Year 11 and sixth form students achieve even better results in 2018. We are committed to providing a well-rounded curriculum, inspiring and effective teaching, supportive structures and a positive environment for our learners.
