POSITION PURPOSE 

The Head of Year, Senior School is a member of the Senior School pastoral team under the leadership of the Head of Senior School. The team is made up of the Heads of Year 10, 11 and 12, their respective deputies, the Senior School Counsellor, the VCE Coordinator, the IB Diploma Coordinator and Head of Careers.  The Heads of Year are responsible to the Head of Senior School for the general wellbeing of students in the year group. They are required to undertake the responsibility of academic rigour and pastoral care, including discipline. 

POSITION STATUS 

While a permanent positon may be offered, the Head of Year position is tenured for three years. The annual full time base salary for this position is as based on the St Leonard's College Agreement 2017 teacher salary scale. The position also attracts twelve (12) responsibility points. The teaching load is equivalent to 14 x 80min periods over a fortnightly cycle in a teaching area of expertise.
