The British Vietnamese International School (BVIS) produces a high-quality international education standard with a rapidly growing reputation. About the role

We are looking for a professional who will thrive working closely with British, Vietnamese and international colleagues.

Our pupils are predominantly Vietnamese, with 14% Koreans. Your teaching will develop students intellectually and emotionally, increasing their proficiency in English through an engaging curriculum based on the English National Curriculum and the International Primary Curriculum. It is therefore essential that our teachers have a good understanding of English language learning.


About you

PGCE/ QTS, leadership experience and a minimum of four years’ recent experience of teaching is essential. You will shine in the primary classroom and in leadership. You will have experience teaching EAL or MFL, a passion for teaching and a strong desire for working in an outstanding bilingual learning environment. Overseas teaching experience is also desirable, as is knowledge of the English National Curriculum, or similar.

We will expect you to promote high expectations for our students, design learning activities that are aligned to our school’s curriculum and encourage a learning culture where there are no limits to what can be achieved. You will foster an environment of respect, facilitating learning in a language rich setting.

BVIS, Hanoi is a state of the art, purpose-built school which opened in August 2013 in a desirable commercial and residential location, adjacent to the Royal City shopping mall and apartment complex in the Thanh Xuan district of Hanoi. BVIS Hanoi is the first of its kind in Hanoi to offer a dual-language, integrated curriculum modelled on the National Curriculum for England whilst committing to nurturing and celebrating Vietnamese language and culture. Students reach high literacy levels in both English and Vietnamese by the end of Primary school.   The International Early Years and International Primary Curriculum models are used extensively.  The use of English as the medium of instruction gradually increases as students progress through the school.  We are proud to call ourselves an international school that is additively bilingual.  Enquiry-based learning in Key Stage 3 leads into Cambridge International Examination IGCSE and International A Level examination courses.
