The Mercers’ Company is the Premier Livery Company of the City of London with a 700 year history. The Company’s core purpose is Philanthropy and making substantial grants each year, funded through investments, to support education, general welfare, church and faith, and arts and heritage.

The Company is seeking to appoint a Head of Young People and Education who will be the senior educationalist at the Company. The post holder will work with the Director of Philanthropy, Court and the Young People and Education Committee to shape the Company’s strategy relating to young people and will then take responsibility for implementing it. The Head of Young People and Education will also have responsibility for developing the relationship between the Mercers’ Company and the network of 17 Associated Schools and Colleges, acting as a trusted advisor on education policy and practice issues, school leadership, performance and governance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a strong grasp of the current educational landscape, including latest trends and innovation, to contribute to the vision of the value The Mercers’ Company can bring to the education sector. The successful candidate will be a strong relationship manager and will have experience of working with school leaders as well as a demonstrable track record of success in a relevant leadership role.
