Job overview

The Governors of Dulwich Prep London invite applications for the post of Head from September 2019 on the retirement of Michael Roulston after a decade of highly successful leadership.

Located in SE London, Dulwich Prep, with its enrolment of 850 pupils, is the largest boys' independent preparatory school in the UK. The majority of pupils join the school in 'Early Years' and, at 13+, transfer to leading senior schools in London or beyond.

The school celebrates individual and collective achievement, underpinned by clearly defined values. The ethos is one of mutual respect, within a happy and progressive multi-cultural school community. As a member of IAPS and IBSC, Dulwich Prep draws on a network of world-leading UK and international schools and benefits from global programmes in Continuous Professional Development.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for the new Head to develop this historic school. The Governors are looking for a highly-qualified individual, with a proven track record in school leadership, who can deliver outstanding academic results, a first-class extra-curricular programme all within an environment in which children and staff thrive.

A creative, confident, intellectually agile and strategically minded professional with excellent communication and organisational skills is sought.

The successful candidate will enjoy a generous salary and benefits package, including first class accommodation adjacent to the school site.
