The Governors of St Margaret’s School are seeking to appoint the next Head, with a preferred start date of September 2019. 

St Margaret’s is an independent boarding and day school for girls aged 4-18. As well as day places, the School offers a range of flexible boarding options for both UK and international pupils from Year 7. Currently, there are 440 pupils on roll. The Senior School (11-18) has around 280 pupils, with approximately 60 in the Sixth Form. The Junior School, including EYFS, has around 160 pupils. Pupils come from a range of ethnic, cultural, social and professional backgrounds. Cultural and linguistic diversity is very much celebrated at the School. Throughout the School all our girls share a dedication and desire to succeed in all that they do and are passionate about the issues facing young women today.

The School aims to combine excellence in modern education with an outstanding pastoral ethos, in order for each girl to achieve success and an education for life, equipping girls to pursue their ambitions with confidence, wisdom and compassion. St Margaret’s has a proven record of academic success in public examinations and pupils move onto competitive courses at leading universities and institutions both in the UK and internationally. 

The Governors are seeking a dynamic Head with the energy, confidence and vigour to take the School forward into the future and the next phase of its development. The successful candidate will be open-minded, proactive, have a proven academic track record and a commitment to creating good working relationships with all the stakeholders of St Margaret’s. The individual will be resilient, have excellent managerial skills and be able to provide inspirational leadership for this forward-thinking School.
