The school is situated north east of Aberdeen city centre. It serves an area that stretches from Regent Walk in the south of the catchment area, to just before the Bridge of Don to the north and to College bounds in the west.

Seaton School has a roll of 215 pupils, with a further 80 children in the nursery classes. The building has been operational since opening as the refurbished Seaton School in October 2010. The current building also houses a Developmental Nursery and a sizeable community wing.

Seaton School is co-educational and non-denominational There are 9 primary classes, of which 1 is a composite, a morning nursery class and an afternoon nursery class, each of which accommodate 40 children.

A strong community ethos underpins the Seaton area. The school is part of the St Machar Associated School Group and maintains very positive links with the other educational establishments and support agencies in the area. It has been involved in many exciting initiatives including the establishment of a school band, samba drumming and extensive outdoor learning.
