Fraserburgh Academy is the second largest secondary school in Aberdeenshire, with a roll of 1,110 students.  The school serves the town of Fraserburgh and surrounding communities in the catchment area.

As a school we are on a journey of continual improvement and have high ambitions for all our students.  Our destination is to become a great school which means we are focusing on:

  • Higher Attainment
  • Broader Achievement
  • Deeper Learning
  • Wider Leadership

What happens in the classroom is key to the success of our students.  It is where we build knowledge, develop skills and promote positive attitudes to learning.  We have highly qualified staff who provide a supportive environment where every child is known and learning flourishes.

Fraserburgh Area

Situated in the north east corner of Aberdeenshire, the town of Fraserburgh is 40 miles north of the City of Aberdeen and has a population of approximately 13,100.

Fraserburgh is a town on the up.  Traditionally a thriving maritime town reliant on fishing and seafood, Fraserburgh these days offers a much more diverse and varied economy situated in the very north east point of Aberdeenshire.  Over recent years, substantial transformative regeneration investment has been made in the town to enhance its distinctive town centre and civic buildings and public realm, its sports and leisure facilities which are the envy of many similarly sized towns and at the North East College (NESCOL) campus.  The Harbour has recently secured a long-term contract to serve the new Moray East windfarm project which will bring significant economic and opportunities to Fraserburgh.  The popular beach, which is also undergoing regeneration work, is nationally renowned as a year-round windsurfing and water sports destination.  Fraserburgh has a thriving community spirit and extends a warm welcome and plentiful opportunity to everyone.

Relocating?

Aberdeenshire Council recognises that in order to recruit and retain high quality employees across the organisation it is necessary to have a competitive relocation and resettlement scheme. The purpose of the scheme is to compensate employees for reasonable expenses directly incurred as a result of a change in their primary residence. The change must be wholly or mainly to bring their residence within a reasonable daily travelling distance of the place where they will normally perform their work.  Under the terms of this procedure relocation expenses of up to £8,000 (including vat) will be reimbursed.
