Job overview

Head Teacher, Bloxham Grove Academy

Salary: L21- L27

Start date: September 2023

The Gallery Trust is looking for an inspirational Head Teacher to lead a brand-new special free school. Bloxham Grove Academy is currently under construction in Bloxham, North Oxfordshire, and will open to students in January 2024.

As the first Head Teacher of Bloxham Grove Academy, you will provide dedicated and strong leadership that will establish the new Academy for staff, families, and the community it serves. The new Academy will cater for 100 students aged 7- 18 with SEND by year 4 of opening and will meet the needs of students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, moderate Cognition and Learning needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring or current Head Teacher to join us at an incredibly exciting time, taking on a new building with state-of-the-art facilities in a rural location. Students will benefit from access to exciting facilities supporting their independence skills and vocational experiences. Located adjacent to The Warriner secondary school, there will be great potential to work collaboratively with this successful mainstream provision.

To lead Bloxham Grove Academy, you will need to be an experienced and dynamic senior leader with a proven track record of leading in SEND and inclusion. You will need to develop a vision for the new academy and communicate this convincingly to the whole community. Your leadership experience could have been gained in special or mainstream settings - what matters is your commitment to raising standards in SEND education and to every child in your care. In return we can give you the opportunity to develop your career as a special school Head Teacher surrounded by our inspirational pupils and supported by dedicated colleagues at The Gallery Trust, with excellent benefits and first-class facilities.

The Gallery Trust is dedicated to improving outcomes for SEND learners in Oxfordshire, striving to provide the best possible special education for all students. As the largest special school Trust in Oxfordshire, we value powerful collaboration and knowledge sharing but fully celebrate the distinct ethos and individuality of our family of schools.

A visit to one of The Gallery Trust’s existing schools is encouraged. To arrange this, and for a confidential conversation, please contact our recruitment partners, Propelo on 01273 222 877 or email gallerytrust@propelo.co.uk.
