We are The Witherslack Group.  At our inspirational Integrated Learning Centres, we offer outstanding opportunities, experiences and support. Each one offers state-of-the-art learning resources, specialist facilities and qualified experienced staff and as our young people learn and grow, we encourage our team to develop too. If you are ambitious and resilient, we will give you the chance to build an exciting career in a fast-growing organisation, where you are free to achieve your potential. We grow careers and we grow together at Witherslack.

Meadow View Learning Centre

The role
As Head Teacher of Meadow View Learning Centre, you will be energised by the chance to lead a diverse school community. Meadow View is one of our Integrated Therapeutic Learning Centres, which provide a high level of education, therapeutic support and care. The centre caters for 9 young people, who live on site in our 52 week children’s home provisions. These specialist sites require close working with the onsite children’s homes team, working together to achieve the best possible outcomes for our young people.

You bring real passion for what you do, coupled with an understanding of the potential challenges surrounding working alongside children with SEMH. This will ensure you inspire your team to deliver the best for our young people, and working together to maintain and improve our ‘Good’ Ofsted rating. With your leadership, staff will develop into excellent classroom practitioners. Meanwhile, you will excel at leading a unique Learning Centre upholding the highest standards. Your challenge also involves building the commercial success of the Learning Centre: you will aim for optimum occupancy, placement stability, cost efficiency and the development of growth plans.

Your profile

To be a first-class Head Teacher, you need patience and great communication skills that you will use when dealing with young people with SEN, as well as parents, carers and staff. Enthusiastic and resilient, you will be a multi-talented professional who’s committed to education, and stays calm in challenging situations. In return, we will help you innovate and continue your professional development. You can expect both support and challenge from our Regional Director, as well as access to a range of specialists, these include Safeguarding, Behaviour and Inclusion Team, Assessment and Quality Evaluation experts, Clinical Team and the Group Commercial team. Naturally, you will have the chance to network with other Head Teachers and senior Group leaders.
