East Ayrshire Council is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic Head Teacher with proven leadership ability who can demonstrate a commitment to ensuring high quality education for all learners. As Head teacher, you will provide strong and effective leadership and take forward the Council’s priorities for education and the drivers of change within the National Improvement Framework.

East Ayrshire Council and the Diocese of Galloway acknowledge the importance of the role of the Head Teacher of a Catholic School and will actively offer long term support, encouragement, affirmation and realistic challenge to the successful candidates.

The relevant legislation on the management of denominational schools in Scotland states “A teacher appointed to any post on the staff of any such school by the education authority…shall be required to be approved as regards religious belief and character by representatives of the church or denominational body in whose interest the school has been conducted.” The successful candidate is required to seek and obtain such approval.
