Position Information

Canley Vale High School is a co-educational, comprehensive high school that caters for the academic, social and emotional needs of approximately 1609 students. Our student population has an average annual average growth of 4% which is composed of enrolments from local, international and new arrivals to Australia. Currently 97% of the students live in households of a non-English speaking background with the predominate language groups of Vietnamese, Khmer, Cantonese and Mandarin.

The school serves a community that is in the lowest 4% for socio-economic advantage in NSW. Despite this, the school holds a consistent average of 90% of HSC graduates entering tertiary study.

Canley Vale High School offers a very broad and balanced curriculum including four VET pathways; accelerated classes; designated EAL/D classes; timetabled Literacy classes; High Potential and Gifted classes and a newly established Support Unit. Free Homework Centre and tutorials for HSC students are available before and after school hours to support our students.

The school has a purpose-built Lecture Theatre that seats 200; a Construction Trade Training Centre; Hospitality Kitchen and a range of other specialist learning spaces. In 2020, a major infrastructure upgrade was completed adding new learning spaces and extending core facilities.
