Head Teacher

As you step into Longwood, you will immediately sense the vibrant, busy atmosphere. You will be greeted with a friendly smile and see the whole team working hard to keep everyone safe and happy. At Longwood, every person is valued and the well-being of our school community is at heart and it is this ethos that runs through everything we do. Whether you visit at 7 o’clock in the morning or the evening, whether during term time or during the holidays, you will see children engaged in exciting activities, all aimed at developing every single one of them to reach their potential. You might find the children engrossed in a science experiment, exploring in the “secret garden”, burning some energy on the “log world”, or preparing a PowerPoint presentation about The Vikings, The Amazon Rainforest or Magnetism. Or you might not find them at all; they may be on a nature walk around Bushey, or having a sports lesson at the adjacent leisure centre, or out on one of our numerous field trips. When you visit, the children will be keen to tell you about their maths lessons, their sporting endeavours, their roles and responsibilities, their 11+ successes and their special friendships with older/younger pupils. The staff will also be happy to help you decide for yourself what Longwood has to offer you. Please come and see for yourself.
