“This is a good school where everyone cares for each other and I feel very lucky to be here,” says a Year 3 pupil at Parklands Primary School.
Could you be the leader Parklands Primary School needs to replace our retiring Headteacher, to sustain the culture and ethos of our school where everyone is valued and encouraged to succeed, and to inspire and motivate pupils, staff and all other members of the school community to continue our journey to drive progress and raise achievement?
Located in a mature residential district of Northampton town, Parklands Primary School offers you:
- Well-behaved pupils with boundless enthusiasm, eager to learn
- Motivated staff ardent to provide outstanding teaching and who are not afraid to try new approaches
- Engaged and supportive governors, parents and local community
- A vibrant and inclusive environment with extensive grounds, Forest school and wildlife area
Could you cultivate our values? Parklands Primary School’s child-centred ethos places equal worth on pupils’ happiness and security as it does progress and achievement. While we are proud of our academic success, we are prouder still of the outstanding safeguarding, wellbeing and acquisition of life skills we provide our pupils in preparation for life outside and beyond school life. Our aspiration is to develop mindful, happy, fulfilled citizens who contribute to their society.
Could you encourage new growth from our healthy rootstock? Parklands Primary School is an established Good school that’s been managed effectively over many years. It has raised many long-serving staff who choose to stay; their support and extensive expertise and experience provides nutritious ground for the professional growth of our colleagues newer to teaching. Our aspiration is to embrace positive change and remain at the forefront of best practice in education.
Could you help us hybridise? Parklands Primary School is active within the local community. Sharing grounds with a before and after school care centre and nursery school, we have active cluster links with local primary and secondary schools, a sports cluster in which we are considered the school to beat, and an enthusiastic, fund raising PTA. Our aspiration is to find new ways to extend our contribution to the wider community.
Do you seek the highest rewards from life; music performances at the Albert Hall and Birmingham Symphony Hall, training with top-level rugby, cricket and football professionals, leading a friendly and committed staff, and being ultimately responsible for the schooling of 420 happy and enthusiastic pupils?
In September we celebrated our school’s 50th anniversary. In those years we have had only four headteachers. Will you be our fifth? Our whole school community looks forward to welcoming and supporting the right candidate for this rewarding role; we hope this might be you.
