After 33 years of service (17 as Headmistress) our Head is retiring and Ruckleigh School is looking to appoint an inspirational and highly skilled replacement. Since the school was established 1909 the school has only appointed a total of four head teachers – demonstrating its ability to retain and develop members of staff.
With a well-established reputation for its warm, family atmosphere, Ruckleigh is a successful and thriving non-selective, co-educational, independent day prep school for 240 boys and girls aged from 3 to 11 years old. The school is renowned for its success in preparing pupils for entrance examinations into highly selective local independent and grammar schools with many children securing scholarships. In 2014 Ruckleigh was named Prep School of the Year by the Sunday Times “Parent Power” list of top schools.
Ruckleigh’s pupils enjoy coming to school. The school prides itself in combining the very best of Prep school tradition with a progressive curriculum and ethos. Our pupils thrive within small classes with individual attention nurturing the potential in each child. Highly qualified, specialist teachers develop enquiring minds, raise levels of expectation and make learning enjoyable.
The school’s new Head Teacher will have the vision to take an already successful school forward. They will be an inspirational educationalist with proven teaching experience within junior or preparatory school education.
