Position Information 

Goulburn High School was established in 1913 and is an inclusive, co-educational, comprehensive high school situated in a large regional centre with an increasing enrolment of 652 students for 2022, including approximately 9% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 6 Support Classes. The school offers a broad junior and senior curriculum and is renowned for its innovative and cutting-edge teaching and learning programs across all KLAs, including the academic enrichment class in Stage 4, and outstanding programs in a range of areas such as STEM and Robotics, Aboriginal education, sports, music and creative arts, learning support, vocational education and careers, and inclusive support classes for students with disabilities. The school has excellent facilities, including six dedicated future-focused learning spaces, state of the art Hospitality and Industrial Technology workshops, a thirteen-acre farm for rural education, assembly / multi-purpose hall and sporting facilities, including a new Oval and Gymnasium that provides students with excellent learning opportunities and experiences.

Specific Selection Criteria 
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, 
1. Approval to teach Special Education and demonstrated expertise in teaching students with complex needs, including students with autism, intellectual disabilities, challenging behaviours, and mental health concerns.
2. Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships with students, their families, staff, and allied health professionals to collaborate on reasonable adjustments, including implementing, monitoring, and adjusting to maximise learning and well-being outcomes for students with disability.
3. Demonstrated ability to develop staff capacity to promote learning and wellbeing growth for students with disability through evidence-informed practices and fostering a culture of support for all students.
4. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teachers and staff teams to develop and implement flexible and innovative teaching and learning programs to liaise and negotiate with a range of stakeholders and work collaboratively within and across teams with reference to relevant legislation, and policies.
5. Demonstrated ability to lead a school-wide culture that values and promotes inclusion and equity and applying the principles of the inclusion statement for students with disability.
  
General Selection Criteria 
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
 
Conditions 

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
