Our children come from multi ethnic backgrounds, although the largest group by far are those from Bangladeshi parentage. Some of them have challenging home lives. Despite this, the vast majority thrive at Elizabeth Selby and truly enjoy coming every day to learn. Pupil progress is most often rapid from low starting points.  Each pupil here works hard to meet the high standards we set for her or him. Each also strives to become a creative, thoughtful individual who leaves here ready to take on the challenges of junior school.

We pride ourselves on our close-knit, friendly school community. Our staff are a tight, cohesive team who work together incredibly well. Our parents are strongly committed to helping their sons and daughters succeed in school. Members of the wider community make valuable contributions to school life, helping our children learn about the world around them.

We are an Infant school that is passionate about early education. We offer the children a warm and nurturing environment as we understand that children who feel safe, valued and cared for will be in the best position to learn.

We are a Rights Respecting School and this is reflected in how the children and staff go about their day. We deliver a curriculum that is exciting as well as challenging and is tailored to the needs of the children.
