The Board of Trustees at Mayville Primary School are looking to appoint a dynamic Headteacher to lead our Academy. The successful applicant should be committed to offering a warm, friendly, inclusive and purposeful setting for all our students to flourish. We have achieved "Good" in the last 3 Ofsted inspections and have maintained our position within the top 6 schools in the local rankings. We are looking for someone who would seek to raise the pupils’ attainment to the next level in keeping with the Urbis Academy motto.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Leader, ideally currently leading a school, who has an extensive and successful background in school improvement. We are looking for a leader who is articulate with strong communication skills, has a sound understanding of Finance, a proven track record of school improvement and strengths in engaging, inspiring and motivating staff at all levels and working with the local community.

The successful candidate will provide professional vision and leadership for the school, ensuring high quality education for all its pupils and demonstrating a passion for continual improvement and achievement.

You will lead by example, holding and articulating clear values along with moral purpose, integrity, drive and determination. You will have the ability to inspire the confidence of students, parents and colleagues through enthusiasm and commitment to the role.

Mayville Primary School, based in Leytonstone, East London, is a mixed-gender school for children aged between three and 11. The school is an academy converter and has capacity for 465 pupils. It is bigger than the average-sized primary school.

“Leaders, managers and governors are having a positive impact on improving teaching and raising pupils’ achievement. The school is continuing to improve. Pupils achieve well because teaching is consistently good and teachers have high expectations of them. Standards by the end of Year 6 were average in reading and mathematics in 2014. This represented good progress for almost all pupils.”
