Currently enrolling almost 1500 boys 1-12, including 180 boarders, Hale is the oldest independent boys’ school in Western Australia, and its Anglican heritage is vital to the values and culture of the School today. With the announcement that Mr Stuart Meade will presently move to a position in Queensland after 14 years of exemplary service to Hale, the Board of Governors now seeks a Head who will lead the Hale School Community with those special qualities of understanding, enthusiasm and vision that are necessary to gain the confidence of the Board and parents, to gain the respect and support of staff, and to encourage and direct the vitality and talents of boys.

The position will be available from January 2017.

Hale School is a boys-only, Anglican all-through school with sixth form situated in the suburb of Wembley Downs in Perth, Western Australia. It is an English language independent day and boarding school and a member of the Public Schools Association and the Junior School Heads Association of Australia. It has a school roll of around 1,500 pupils between the ages of 5-18, from years 1 to 12. Qualifications are awarded by the school include WACE and IGCSE courses

Hale is the oldest boys’ school in Western Australia. It has its origins in June 1858, when the Anglican Bishop of Perth, Mathew Blagden Hale, founded a Collegiate School. Despite difficult beginnings due in part to multiple changes of sites and amalgamations, after the Second World War, the school truly flourished, going through a number of successful principals and expanding a great deal. Recent developments include a new Forrest Library in 2009, a modern Middle School facility in 2010 and a new aquatic facility in 2013.
