About this Role

Head of Sixth Form (two posts available – one at Habs Girls, one at Habs Boys)

This is an exceptional time to join the leadership team at one of the UK’s leading educational communities. We are excited to offer two outstanding opportunities to become Head of Sixth Form – one at Haberdashers’ Girls’ School and one at Haberdashers’ Boys’ School.

These parallel roles come at a pivotal moment in our journey. With a shared 100-acre campus and a model of collaboration between two top-performing schools, Habs offers a rare platform to shape the Sixth Form experience for hundreds of students – and to redefine what excellence, aspiration, and holistic education look like in the final years of school.

At Habs, we empower young people to make a profound impact on the world — and we’re seeking two dynamic, visionary Heads of Sixth Form to lead the most important and inspiring sections of our schools.

This is more than a leadership role; it’s a unique opportunity to shape the lives of our oldest students as they prepare to take on the world. You will set the tone for a thriving, ambitious, and inclusive Sixth Form, guiding students to achieve academic excellence, grow personally and socially, and develop the confidence to pursue their aspirations.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play a central role in whole-school strategy, while leading a talented team of Middle Leaders, Form Tutors and Prefects. Your work will shape everything from academic strategy for the section, pastoral care and safeguarding, to co-curricular engagement, university admissions, and the Habs Diploma – a hallmark of our holistic educational approach. Crucially, you will work collaboratively with your counterpart across both schools and contribute to a culture of high performance and inclusivity, to inspire and support students at both schools.

We’re looking for two leaders with:

  • High academic aspirations
  • A deep commitment to the power of pastoral care
  • The courage to set bold expectations and lead with integrity
  • The ability to inspire staff, students and parents alike
  • A proven track record of excellent middle or senior leadership
  • A love for education in its fullest sense — academic, personal, and co-curricular

Whether mentoring the next generation of leaders and innovators, supporting students through university and apprenticeship pathways, or celebrating their successes at Leavers' events — your impact will be both immediate and lasting.

This is an exciting time to join Habs. If you’re ready to lead with purpose, make a difference, and inspire future change-makers, we want to hear from you.

What we offer:

  • A competitive salary, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and the size of the School
  •  Approximately 17 weeks holiday per year
  • Generous Private Pension Scheme
  • Additional life insurance cover, access to Employee Assistance
  • Extensive professional development training opportunities
  • Access to Employee Assistance Programme
  • Free lunch and refreshments during term time
  • Free onsite parking or access to travel on the schools extensive coach network
  • Free access to sports facilities and well-being programmes for staff
  • Free access to state-of-the-art sports facilities including the gym, swimming pool, and fitness classes
  • Wellbeing initiatives and programmes, such as yoga, mindfulness sessions, and health checks
  • Access to an online GP service, providing quick and convenient healthcare advice
  • Access to Vivup, the staff benefits platform, featuring discounts, financial advice, and wellbeing resources
  • Cycle-to-Work Scheme and other green travel incentives including Octopus Electric Vehicles
