As a large infant school in Aldershot, we are part of a diverse and highly mobile community and we offer children a safe, caring and happy environment to learn in. We were rated Good by Ofsted in January 2017. Due to the retirement of our long-standing Headteacher, we are now seeking an inspirational, enthusiastic and approachable leader who will build on the excellent progress that has been made in recent years and identify new and innovative ways to maintain and raise standards, further improve the quality of teaching and learning and work well with the wider community.
Our new Headteacher will need to:
- Demonstrate they are inspirational, empowering and motivating.
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of audiences.
- Show passion for children’s learning and development, inspiring children to love learning.
- Be able to develop teaching and learning further to maintain and raise standards and progress for all children.
- Be driven and relish a challenge.
- Promote the school vision, identify strategic opportunities and ensure the vision is shared across the whole school.
- Support and challenge teachers to set aspirational targets for all children.
- Lead and develop the senior leadership team, empowering them to fulfil their roles effectively.
- Have a strong presence in the school and community.
Key tasks to be addressed include:
- To ensure all disadvantaged children and those with SEND have access to high-quality educational provision and achieve successful outcomes.
- To further improve teaching so that there are more children exceeding age related expectations in all areas.
- To further develop our child centred approach to teaching in Early Years.
- To further strengthen the collaboration between the school and its stakeholders, with a focus on encouraging more parents to become involved in the life of the school.
