Wilthorpe Primary School is the product of a successful amalgamation of Infant and Junior Schools which occurred in 2013. Our Headteacher, who led the school in getting to ‘Good’ in May 2016, took a well-deserved retirement at the end of August 2016.

We are seeking an outstanding individual who would love to lead us on the next stage of our journey.

Ours is one of the largest primary schools in Barnsley, a thriving market town in Yorkshire, easily accessible by road or rail, and within easy commutable distance of Leeds, Wakefield, Sheffield and Doncaster. Despite our urban location, we are also in close proximity to some of the most beautiful greenbelt land in the country.

We are justifiably proud of our school, and have high aspirations and expectations for further and improved outcomes for our children, and the wider school community, and this is therefore a rare and exciting opportunity for an inspirational and dynamic leader to consolidate and build on our school’s successes, and drive us forward into the future.

Candidates must have a proven track record of excellence as primary practitioners in a school leadership role, and demonstrate the qualities, passion, and vision that will enable the school to flourish.
