Job overview
Bede Academy is an all-through school in Blyth, Northumberland and operates across one Primary and one Secondary. Rated as Good by Ofsted, it is a Christian-ethos school of character for the whole community.
We are seeking the right person to provide outstanding leadership and management for the three-form-entry Primary phase of this very special school where everyone is Valued, Challenged and Inspired.
As the Headteacher – Primary, you will ensure even our very youngest students know they are ‘made in God’s image’ and are, therefore, infinitely precious, morally responsible and gifted for a purpose.
Ensuring all our students have the very best educational start in life in an environment where everyone is Valued, Challenged and Inspired, you will embed our vibrant, celebratory, and inclusive Christian ethos, which runs as a ‘golden thread’ through the curriculum, our approach to behaviour management and personal development, and in our dealings with parents and the wider community – many of whom may not be Christians themselves.
With responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Primary phase, you will support teachers to improve their practice, develop the curriculum, ensure the timely use of appropriate assessment, and raise standards. You will work collaboratively and closely with Secondary colleagues to ensure a whole-school approach. As the leader of the Primary phase at Bede, you will also be part of the Trust Senior Leadership Team, working collaboratively with colleagues in other schools across the Trust.
We’re a growing Trust: whether you already have a strong track record as a Headteacher or are currently a senior leader seeking a highly rewarding and challenging role prior to your first Headship, you will be ready to take your next step and will have the skills and ability to bring your vision to life.
Note: There is an occupational requirement for the post-holder to be a practising Christian.
