Job overview

Every Opportunity to Achieve

The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an energetic, reflective practitioner whose aspirations for headship are closely matched to those of the Governing Body, the staff, students and parents of Broad Oak Sports College. The previous Headteacher resigned at 31 March 2017 to take up a senior post abroad.

Broad Oak Sports College is an 11 - 16 Community school with an assigned student number of 120 per year group. It is located at the heart of the walk-to-school community of East Bury on the fringes of the West Pennine Moors and 10 miles north of Manchester. The proportion of students who benefit from Pupil Premium funding is significantly higher than the national average.

Our students and staff are expecting to be challenged, encouraged, respected, celebrated and most of all, inspired under the leadership of our next Headteacher. If you can do all of that and work collaboratively with the Governing Body and other stakeholders we want to talk with you about our journey and excitement for the future of the school.

Informal visits are welcomed and will be hosted by a governor. Please contact the Head's PA, Jane Holmes to arrange a visit, telephone 0161 797 6543 or email j.holmes@broadoaksportscollege.co.uk.

Employees of Broad Oak Sports College and Bury MBC have a responsibility for and must be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and for ensuring that they are protected from harm.

Appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Short listing will take place Wednesday 7th February 2018.
Interviews will take place 13th & 14th February 2018.
