St Monica’s serves the local Catholic community in the area to the North of Manchester and is a school that embraces collaboration with other institutions to improve standards. The Interim Executive Board (IEB) is seeking to appoint a new Headteacher to lead the school in the pursuit of excellence in all areas.
The successful candidate:
- must be a practising Catholic with a strong personal faith and a clear understanding of the intrinsic value of Catholic education;
- should have the strategic ability and dedication to use effective leadership skills with creativity and enthusiasm to continue the current improvement and development of our school community;
- will have experience at senior leadership level with a strong proven track record of raising standards;
- needs to have the energy, drive and ability to develop the potential of all staff and pupils;
- and will contribute to the vision and mission of St Monica’s within the school, the associated parishes and the wider community.

"Across the school, leaders and staff have high expectations of what pupils can and should achieve. The headteacher drives this culture of high expectations. He is unrelenting in his vision to improve the school so that all pupils get the highest quality education.
The behaviour of pupils around the school and in lessons has noticeably improved. Lessons are typically free from disruption. Behaviour during social times and when moving between lessons is calm and purposeful.
Pupils, parents and staff say that the school has improved significantly since the appointment of the new headteacher at the start of the year. The evidence gathered by inspectors supports their views.
Pupils have many opportunities to develop as well-rounded young people, grounded in the Catholic values of the school.”
