The Governing Body of this secondary co-educational college for young people who have experienced mental health challenges wishes to appoint an inspirational leader as Head Teacher to this unique school.

The Governing Body will consider the flexibility within the School teachers’ pay and conditions document 2016 for a suitably experienced candidate

We are looking for a leader who and has the vision, desire and commitment to continue our improvement journey to outstanding. 

Our new Head Teacher will:

  • Have a passion for learning and for the development of the whole person;
  • Have a firm commitment to raising standards through effective teamwork;
  • Have an innovative approach to problem solving;
  • Show experience of working collaboratively along with a commitment to working successfully in partnership with agencies and in a multi-disciplinary team.

Cloughside College has two distinct units Junction 17 (a facility for up to 28 young people 13 - 18) and the Gardener Unit (a national secure unit for up to 10 male young people) which are part of the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. 

Cloughside College was rated as a ‘Good’ school by Ofsted in June 2014, having previously been in special measures – this exceptional improvement is testament to the hard work and dedication of all involved hence we seek an exceptional individual to lead our committed team to outstanding.
