L15 – L21 (£55,600 to £64,417)

This is a full time position

Job Purpose: Due to the retirement of our existing Headteacher, the Governing Body of Orchard Community Primary are seeking to appoint a new Headteacher who can bring a fresh approach to this critical role. We are looking to appoint a determined, ambitious, focused and resourceful leader who will provide professional leadership, inspiring our staff to bring the curriculum to life in a vibrant and inclusive way.

Our recent Ofsted inspection placed us in Requires Improvement. Our new Headteacher will provide effective management of the school and identify innovative ways of improving outcomes using quality first teaching, clear leadership and strategic vision in a school where ‘children are enthusiastic and capable learners’ Ofsted 2017. The Lead Ofsted inspector described our school as one where pupils are proud of their school. The children are confident and articulate and the ‘friendly and inclusive ethos of the school supports pupils to make positive choices’ Ofsted 2017.

The new Headteacher will be well supported by the Governors, staff, pupils and parents. There will be many opportunities for the new Headteacher to drive the successful implementation of change, raising the quality of teaching and learning, and maximising pupils’ achievements within a successful educational culture.
