We are looking to appoint an exceptional Headteacher to lead this extended secondary school in Dunstable, Bedfordshire.

Priory is a co-educational, oversubscribed, all ability school for children in Years 5 to Year 11. It is an OFSTED graded Good school with good attainment outcomes. It is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate as the school embarks on its next phase, a place where traditional values are combined with the latest technology to deliver a very effective and modern curriculum.

Formed in 2012, SET has enjoyed measured growth, ensuring maximum educational impact alongside financial sustainability, and is currently made up of five co-educational schools – a primary school, an extended secondary, two secondary schools and an all-through school.

To be successful, you will have an expert knowledge of the process of learning, significant educational experience coupled with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. You will have a desire to progress further in your career, and have the ability to make a difference for all the students.

Diversity: Scholars’ Education Trust is fully committed to the principles of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion. We want to attract and retain the very best staff in all areas of the trust, ensuring our staff body reflects the diversity of our students and local community.

We are an outward looking, successful school that has served our local community for over 100 years. Relentless in our pursuit of excellence, our school has developed rapidly from a popular middle to an extended secondary school (9-16 years).

In recent years our school has gone from strength to strength. Our teachers are dedicated and committed to engaging, supporting and challenging our students to achieve in all aspects of life. Our vibrant curriculum combined with excellent teaching has resulted in our children achieving not only very high KS2 SATs results, but outstanding GCSE results in our very first year in the summer of 2017.

Our Key Stage 2 joins seamlessly with our Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum and builds on the successes of our colleagues at our partner schools. It is a combination of all these elements that fashions our high standards at GCSE.

Having been judged as ‘Good with outstanding features’ by Ofsted in June 2017, we were delighted that the inspectors recognised our aspirational vision for the school and our determination to ensure that all our pupils excel. In addition, they commented that “leaders and teachers have developed a culture in which pupils expect and want to be challenged.”

As part of the highly successful Scholars' Education Trust, we plan to build upon this success through benefiting from an exceptional range of support and guidance that the Trust can provide.

We enjoy a close-knit community, where we pride ourselves on providing high quality education and individualised care. Following the ‘values-based’ education philosophy, we promote and nurture our students to have a strong sense of social responsibility, ready for the wider world.
