Fordwater is a special school for children aged 2 – 19 years with a range of special educational and complex learning needs including PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties) and ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition). Ofsted rated us Good with Outstanding Features (2013).

The Governors are looking for an inspirational Headteacher with a proven track record of first class leadership to lead our Special School through the next phase, building on the success of our present Headteacher, who is retiring.

The school is situated in the cathedral city of Chichester at the foot of the South Downs, with Chichester Harbour and blue flag beaches nearby.

We have 117 children and young people, supported by an amazing team of over 100 dedicated and enthusiastic staff.

We are looking for:

• Experience in an SEN environment and understanding of the challenges of delivering excellent education and care to pupils with complex needs
• An exceptional leader, able to motivate, challenge and inspire
• A commitment to raising standards in all aspects of school life
