Job overview

The children of Cranleigh Church of England Primary are a wonderful testimony to the atmosphere of respect, love, curiosity and fun which characterises our school. Situated in the heart of the Surrey Hills, our church primary school serves a surprisingly diverse community. The governors, staff and pupils are excited to meet a new Headteacher with outstanding people skills and a love for building successful staff teams.

With a one-form intake at EYFS and KS1, two-form at KS2, along with a CoIN Centre, this represents an exciting opportunity for a proven leader to take on a new challenge. Currently split over two sites, the school is waiting for a new school building in the next few years to bring state of the art facilities and fuller unity to the community.

A supportive and engaged Governing Body will be pleased to work with an open, confident and dynamic leader. Our identity as a church school is central to our vision for educating the whole child, for the whole of life. Sharing and developing that vision with clarity and inspiration is likely to be key to bringing the best out of our staff and pupils.

We are also a school embedded in the community. A successful candidate will need excellent communication skills, and an ability to work in partnership with stakeholders in the village and wider community.

This is a job with exciting challenges, excellent existing foundations, and plenty of enjoyment. One pupil's acute observation was that a new Headteacher for Cranleigh Primary would need to be kind and courageous. Whilst true of most positions of leadership, we look forward to meeting kind, courageous and competent applicants!
