The largest nursery and infant school within Croydon is seeking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious new leader. Are you up for the challenge?

Winterbourne School is a vibrant and diverse nursery and five form entry infant school in the London Borough of Croydon. We are a welcoming and inclusive school with a creative and challenging curriculum, designed to inspire our children to learn and grow in a safe and happy environment. The school includes an extended learning provision for nursery age children with autism, and hosts a local Best Start Children’s Centre.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is a successful, experienced headteacher, or a deputy head in a large and challenging school
  • is an inspirational and enthusiastic leader with a proven record in raising standards, and who has high expectations of pupils and staff
  • understands the importance of diversity and equal opportunities, including the issues around educating children for whom English isn’t their first language
  • has the ability to articulate a clear ethos and vision, and to plan strategically for the future of the school and the success of all its pupils
  • can lead, motivate and support the talented team of staff, and build relationships with a committed Governing Board
  • will foster positive relationships with children, parents and the local community
  • has the emotional resilience and ambition to build upon our school’s strengths and move the school forward
