Kingsley School Bideford is a co-educational independent day and boarding school set on a 25-acre site in the beautiful North Devon countryside. Part of KSI Education, Kingsley School educates 288 pupils aged 3 to 18 and is committed to discovering, nurturing and celebrating the talents and achievements of all pupils in a vibrant, friendly and inclusive family school environment.

KSI Education now seeks an outstanding leader and educationalist to guide Kingsley School Bideford as it enters the next exciting phase of its evolution. The next Headteacher will play a critical role in the ambitious development of the School’s Earth Centre, a world-first environmental sustainability and climate action focused programme of study. In parallel, s/he will grow the pupil roll at Kingsley School, with a particular focus on boarding, and will continue to support the development of an already committed staff body.  

The appointee will be a visionary and strategic leader. S/he will possess the warmth, gravitas and people skills to develop Kingsley School at the forefront of KSI Education’s ambitions to become a global leader in sustainable education. A compelling communicator and an outstanding pedagogical leader, s/he will possess strong stakeholder management skills, commercial acumen and the strength of character to inspire pupils, staff and the wider community at Kingsley School. An understanding of the imperatives of external engagement in a competitive market is important, as is a genuine resonance with holistic education and boarding.

About Kingsley School, Bideford

Kingsley School is located in the coastal town of Bideford, Devon. The school is co-educational and has around 400 pupils aged 0-18. Roughly 100 of these pupils are boarders, with the rest being day pupils. The school is located on a single site on Bideford, with provision for all year groups. An academically non-selective institution, Kingsley School can boast of a wide range of facilities including a fully floodlit astroturf pitch, a theatre, and a dedicated sports hall.
