Job overview

This post is being re advertised, previous applicants will be considered and do not need to reapply.

Stirling Primary School is situated near the centre of Doncaster and is a popular school serving a diverse area. The school welcomes the variety and opportunities for learning that this cultural diversity brings. There is currently a building extension programme underway that will add further capacity.

Following a period of instability and high pupil mobility, the school is now looking to move forward with strong leadership driving rapid improvements in attainment and progress whilst providing a strong foundation for children’s learning and healthy life opportunities through a broad and balanced curriculum.

The school is now looking to appoint a strong headteacher who will:

  • Provide positive, strong leadership and strategic direction
  • Work with all stakeholders and partners to rapidly improve outcomes across the school
  • Further develop good links with parents, governors and the community
  • Celebrate and develop the achievements of pupils and staff
  • Recognise and celebrate the cultural diversity of the school and the community it serves
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to social inclusion and provide inspiration to pupils and families
  • Develop and strengthen an innovative approach to a broad and balanced curriculum

Governors are seeking a candidate with outstanding professional, management and teaching abilities. The successful candidate will be fully committed to providing the best education possible for all pupils within a culture of continuous improvement. They will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and staff through working closely with relevant agencies.

The school is currently LA maintained but is due to become a Reach 4 academy in the near future and the successful candidate will be expected to facilitate the smooth transition to academisation.

Candidates are welcome to visit the school - please arrange a visit with the School Business Manager, Catherine Mitchell, either by email Catherine.Mitchell@stirling.doncaster.sch.uk or by telephoning the school on 01302 363612.

A job description, person specification and application form are available from the school office by contacting office@stirling.doncaster.sch.uk
