Job overview

Headteacher

Full time, permanent

Salary - £79,535 to £92,135 Range [L29 – L 35]

The Consortium Academy Trust (TCAT) is looking to appoint an inspirational and exceptional leader as Headteacher of Holderness Academy and Sixth Form College.

Holderness Academy has fantastic students, supportive parents, passionate teachers and enormous potential: this is an exciting time to join a rapidly improving school. Despite recent challenges related to the OFSTED Inspection of June 2017, the Academy retains a strong community ethos, and we firmly believe opportunities and experiences play a huge role in enabling young people to develop their skills and attributes beyond the classroom. We are now looking to appoint an inspirational and exceptional leader to further drive improvements as we establish Holderness Academy as the school of choice for our community. This is at the heart of our vision.

We are therefore seeking a strategic thinker who wants to move this truly comprehensive school forward to meet our vision and aspirations. Our Headteacher will demonstrate commitment, resilience, enthusiasm and dedication; having the ability to motivate, challenge and support colleagues, whilst continuing to develop a culture of improvement that promotes excellence, equality and high expectations of all. This is a fantastic opportunity for a leader who is passionate about making a difference and improving the life-chances of young people.

The successful applicant will work in partnership with the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team of TCAT. This is an exciting time to be joining a Trust which was developed to provide the platform to deliver high quality educational experiences for the children and young people within the local community and enhance and improve their life chances, ultimately enabling them all to make substantial contributions to society. Our Trust has a strong and very successful history of partnership working, having operated consortium sixth form arrangements with the three founding schools of Cottingham, Wolfreton and Hessle, for over 25 years.

As a Trust, we recognise that all schools are different, serving local communities that have differing needs, aspirations and ambitions. This principle underpins the Trust’s approach to leadership of an individual school. We believe that as far as possible, schools should be run by their staff, their leadership and Local Governing Body and this belief will apply as we seek to recruit the best possible Headteacher for Holderness Academy.

If you wish to apply for the position please download an application form from The Consortium Academy Trust website and submit your application to vacancies@consortiumtrust.co.uk

If you wish to discuss the post with Dave McCready, CEO, please contact Gilly Stafford, PA to the CEO on 01482 469838 or via email at Gilly.Stafford@consortiumtrust.co.uk

Additionally if you would like to arrange a visit to the school please contact Tracey Jarvis, PA to the Headteacher on Jarvist@holderness.academy

The closing date for applications is Monday 4 February 2019 at 12.30pm. Interviews are scheduled for 11 and 12 February 2019.

It sits six miles to the East of Hull and one mile from the town of Hedon.

The Academy attracts students from all its surrounding East Yorkshire towns and villages, and staff from even further afield. We are incredibly proud to have a positive and engaged student body and a dedicated and talented team of staff and governors.
