Due to the retirement of our longstanding and highly successful Headteacher, the pupils, parents, staff and governors of Little Horsted Church of England Primary School are keen to appoint a dynamic, innovative and exceptional Headteacher who has the drive, passion and vision to lead the school on its journey to outstanding.

Little Horsted is a 2 - 11 half form entry school situated in a delightful countryside location, overlooking the East Sussex National Golf Course and the South Downs. The school currently has 130 pupils on roll, including those children within our highly successful Early Years Village.

The school has developed an excellent reputation both locally and beyond for enabling its children to excel and flourish; providing an exciting, vibrant, caring and dynamic experience, all supported by the school’s strong Christian values.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an excellent practitioner to lead a committed and high performing body of staff whilst continuing their own professional development, supported by a strong and forward thinking governing body.

We are looking for:

  • An inspirational and highly effective individual who leads by example whilst supporting and promoting leadership opportunities for all colleagues
  • An innovative, forward thinking and outward looking candidate capable of leading and developing the strategic vision and future direction of the school (including the long-term future potential to expand and lead the school into partnership/federation)
  • A proven track record of leading, promoting and developing outstanding teaching and learning and achieving excellent outcomes for all
  • The ability to work collaboratively, developing high performing teams in which all stakeholders feel accountable and valued
  • An understanding of strategic financial planning within the current educational landscape
  • A leader that will embrace the school’s Christian ethos and values; ensuring that the children at Little Horsted are always at the heart of every decision

If you feel that you are a highly motivated, inspirational leader who has the expertise and experience to lead the school on its next steps to outstanding then we would very much like to hear from you.

A Recruitment Pack is available from: Leadership.Recruitment@eastsussex.gov.uk
