Our school

Open Sky International is a French and English bilingual private school, situated in Boulogne-Billancourt on the outskirts of Paris. The school opened in 2012 for early years and primary pupils, and currently welcomes children and students from the maternelle (or early years) classes up to the cohort of Première (or Year 12 in the British system). Older students take a mix of GCSE, IGCSE, International A level and A level examinations and the school’s first Terminale or Year 13 class will open in September 2025. All learners follow a bilingual timetable, taking approximately half of their classes in French and half in English. The school is owned and managed by a husband and wife team, and the owners play a significant role in the school’s day-to-day operations and decision making processes.

Our vision is to provide a bilingual education of excellence to our pupils, and our academic programme is built on the strongest aspects of a range of international curricula and teaching and learning methodology. We have high expectations from the onset for all pupils and we aim for our curriculum to be rigorous, broad and engaging. Class sizes across the school are small and our pupils are courteous, hard-working and motivated. We are a fully international school, catering for both French and expatriate families, and we are proud of our multicultural school community. Our staff at all levels are enthusiastic and passionate about education and possess a sound understanding of best practice.


Our new Headteacher

We are now looking for a Headteacher to manage the maternelle, primary and secondary sections of the school. The Headteacher will be a member of the senior leadership team and will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and organisation of the school. He or she will manage the teaching team in the broadest sense and ensure that all areas of the school follow the curriculum, teaching methods and educational standards outlined by OSI’s owners.

The Headteacher will work closely with the owners to develop further the school at all levels and help increase student enrolment figures, and the candidate chosen should demonstrate that he or she has the interpersonal and teamwork skills to work successfully with OSI’s owners on a day-to-day basis.

As the school is still growing, we are looking for a candidate who possesses strong commercial understanding, and has exceptional communication and personal skills, demonstrating the flexibility, resilience and energy to thrive in a vibrant and competitive international environment. The ideal candidate will have:

- A high level of spoken and written French and English.

- A minimum of five years in a senior management position.

- A thorough knowledge of the expectations, curriculum and qualifications of the British education system.

- Ideally an appropriate senior leadership and management qualification.

In addition, the Headteacher is expected to:

  • Have the ability to inspire, enthuse and support others.
  • Possess a strong understanding of the commercial aspects of the role. 
  • Show ambition, energy, enthusiasm, determination and drive.
  • Be a highly competent communicator (both verbally and in writing), with the confidence to engage meaningfully with different audiences.
  • Be able to prioritise and work successfully under pressure.
  • Be flexible and have the capacity to adapt to any given situation, and react decisively and positively.
  • Consider themselves as members of a team and aim to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.


What does OSI offer?

Ideally, the candidate will join OSI as early as possible in order to allow for a period of integration into the organisation and our philosophy of education, and we welcome applications from candidates who can start before the end of this academic year. However we understand that for many candidates an earlier start may not be possible, and in this case the candidate selected would start in July or the beginning of August 2025. The exact date will be negotiated with the school’s owners. The position comes with an attractive salary and a competitive package.
