Job overview

Our nursery school and children’s centre are unique, so we need someone out of the ordinary who can take us forward to the next stage in our development. A leader who is not only ambitious, dynamic and inspirational, but who can really maximise the great potential we have to offer.

We are seeking to appoint a Head Teacher to lead our two nursery school settings and our children’s centre into the future as one cohesive unit. Someone who can embrace and encourage relationships in our community and provide outstanding education for children and adults alike. Someone with a clear vision, who can create a strong collaborative way of working, both within our ‘Centre’ and beyond in our surrounding area.

The position offers unique and exciting opportunities to establish us as a leading nursery school, as well as growing our reach and extending our services as a children’s centre in the surrounding area. If you thrive on providing the best possible start for children under the age of five and for their families and carers, we want to hear from you.

We need a Head Teacher who:

  • Has successful leadership experience at a nursery or infant school;
  • Has recent teaching experience of EYFS together with a secure knowledge of the EYFS framework;
  • Will set high expectations for all, striving to ensure that every child and adult who uses our services has the opportunity to fulfil their potential, no matter what challenges are faced;
  • Is innovative and inspirational, and will create and drive a shared vision across our nursery schools and children’s centre;
  • Will work with local families and our community to promote healthy lifestyles, better parenting skills and equal opportunities;
  • Has a track record of motivating teams, constantly seeking improvement and aims to be outstanding in all areas;
  • Will bring new ideas and build on current successes;
  • Is a highly effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

We can offer you:

  • The opportunity to:
  • Shape the two nursery schools’ future structure;
  • Develop our children’s centre in providing services for families and carers of children under 5 years of age.
  • A rich and diverse community;
  • An excellent team of teachers, outreach workers and support staff;
  • A committed governing body that provides both support and challenge to the nursery school and children’s centre;
  • A unique opportunity with tremendous scope for your future career development.

We encourage all applicants to visit our nursery schools and children’s centre prior to application. To arrange a visit, please contact Jeanette Mosdell-Inveen on 01483 566589 or Jeanette.Mosdell-Inveen@guildfordchildrenscentre.surrey.sch.uk
