We need you to establish our brand new school. But no ordinary primary school – one that lives and breathes modern foreign languages.
Located in Welwyn Garden City, HICS will open in September 2017, firmly grounded in the Christian faith. Our extended day will include 30 minutes of Spanish every day, meaning our children will learn languages to an exceptional high standard and the school will be a leading light for MFL.

To do that you’ll be a pioneer – an inspirational and visionary leader with a determination to deliver the highest standards for every child.We need you to have strong leadership experience, either as a headteacher or deputy, with expertise of teaching modern foreign languages, and ideally Spanish. You’ll be passionate about nurturing our school in the Christian faith and relentless in delivering the very best for our children.
With effective and whole school strategic leadership, management and communication skills, you will demonstrate:
- energy and commitment to excellence
- determination to achieve and maintain high standards for every child, no matter what their background or circumstances
- experience of modern foreign languages teaching, ideally Spanish
- experience of teaching or leading Early Years and/or Key Stage 1
- passion and enthusiasm for each individual child’s learning to ensure that each child maximises their full potential
- a robust approach to systems and financial sustainability
- an ability to pioneer.
Lead us from the word go. From January 2017, you’ll recruit an exceptional team, develop the curriculum, market the school – and have everything in place for our doors to open in September 2017 to a 3FE Reception Year. All with the support of an experienced and highly competent Board of Governors.
