Start Date: January 2020; or later (April 2020) for an exceptional candidate

The Governors, staff and pupils of this large three-form entry primary school and nursery in the London Borough of Hillingdon are looking for a dynamic and inspirational individual to lead the school community on a continued path of excellence.

Situated in the heart of the southern part of the London Borough of Hillingdon, Colham Manor has recently maintained its Good rating from Ofsted in our June 2019 ‘short inspection’ with Outstanding personal development, behaviour and welfare for its pupils. The school itself is set within extensive and well-maintained grounds and is close to the upcoming Crossrail links at West Drayton, as well as being a short distance from the M4 and M25 motorways.

Our ideal candidate will be an existing or aspiring Headteacher who can demonstrate proven management experience at a senior level with ‘whole school’ responsibilities, and who can:

  • Think strategically to build upon, and continue, our school vision of excellence, including setting and managing ambitious and challenging targets;
  • Analyse data to challenge under performance, identify improvement strategies, and recognise excellence;
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including pupils, parents and the wider community;
  • Exemplify the ethos, values and vision of our school for all members of the school community.

In return we can offer the successful candidate:

  • A well-established and highly supportive Governing Board;
  • The chance to continue developing our school into a beacon of excellence;
  • Well behaved, polite children who genuinely enjoy coming to school.

If you are interested in applying for this position, we invite you to review the candidate information pack which contains a wealth of information about our school. We would also invite you to visit the school on one of the following dates where you will be offered a full tour of the school:

  • Tuesday 17 September;
  • Wednesday 18 September;
  • Thursday 19 September.

If you are not available on these dates, we are able to facilitate visits on other days upon request. To arrange a school visit, or for further information about this role, please contact Joe Impey at Crinkle Recruitment by emailing joe.impey@schoolshr.net or calling 01895 717 088.

When applying, please ensure you complete an electronic application form with a personal statement no longer than two sides of A4.  Your personal statement must address the criteria outlined in the Job Description and Person Specification. CVs and/or applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.

Closing Date: Sunday 06 October – 23:59

Shortlisting Date: Tuesday 08 October

Interview and Assessment Dates: Wednesday 16 October – candidates who are successful at the end of this day will be asked to return on Thursday 17 October.

The interview and assessment process will involve several tasks to test the shortlisted candidates’ ability in specific areas related to school leadership. Full details will be provided to those candidates who are shortlisted. Psychometric Assessments will also be used as a part of the assessment process.

Colham Manor Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory reference checks and other pre-employment checks.
