This is a unique and challenging opportunity to make a real difference in education across the Isle of Wight.

We are looking for the next Headteacher of The Island Learning Centre, a ‘Pupil Referral Unit’ for young people aged 11-16. This is a ‘good-rated’ school serving the beautiful Isle of Wight. Our students have a range of vulnerabilities which may include special educational needs, medical needs, or behaviours that mean the young people have been permanently excluded from mainstream school.

Situated in Newport, the heart of the Island, we have dedicated staff who provide a safe, calm yet stimulating environment for our young people allowing us to support the changes in their lives and nurture their potential.

Our new Headteacher will build on our strong foundations, inspiring staff and forging close relationships with parents and the wider community. This is a unique opportunity for the right person to elevate the centre into a beacon of excellence where the young people enjoy learning and fulfil their potential.

We already have a team of dedicated staff in place working with these wonderful young people and now we need the ideal candidate with vision and passion to take our school into the future.
