Job overview

HEADTEACHER – TUNBRIDGE WELLS GIRLS’ GRAMMAR SCHOOL

TWGGS is a very special place in which to learn and work, and we have a strong reputation both locally and nationally. We are a girls’ 11-18 grammar school which has the core aim of developing well-rounded young people ready to make a difference in the world. Achievement is consistently high, and TWGGS has maintained its position as one of the top state girls’ schools in the country for both progress and achievement, whilst it also prides itself on being a school rooted in its community as a local grammar school.

Another particular feature of the school is the wide range of extra-curricular and leadership opportunities that we offer, with a large number of clubs and activities, many of them led by sixth formers, as well as having our own thriving CCF. The special, successful community in which these activities take place allows pupils to feel supported, happy and safe, and it is one which we feel very privileged to be a part of.

This vacancy has arisen as a result of the impending retirement of the current Headteacher; we want someone to combine our successful past with their own vision for our future. If you are as excited by this opportunity as we hope you will be and you believe that you might be the right person for the role, then we warmly invite you to apply.

To apply please download the Headteacher application pack on the school’s website - www.twggs.kent.sch.uk. Applications will only be accepted on the school application form, with an accompanying letter; CVs and other forms are not acceptable.

Closing date for applications: 12 noon on Monday 31 January 2022

Interviews will be held: Monday 7 and Tuesday 8 February 2022

TWGGS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check at an enhanced level and must provide proof of the right to work in the UK.
