Healey Junior, Infants and Nursery School is situated in Batley, West Yorkshire and is a popular school serving a diverse area. The school welcomes the variety and opportunities for learning that this cultural diversity brings.
Following an OFSTED report in September 2016, the outcome of which was that the school requires Special Measures and is to be sponsored by The Batley Multi Academy Trust, the Board of Governors are now looking to move the school forward with strong leadership, driving rapid improvements in attainment and progress whilst providing a strong foundation for children’s learning and healthy life opportunities through a broad and balanced curriculum.
The school is looking to appoint a strong Headteacher who will:
- Provide positive, strong leadership and strategic direction
- Work with all stakeholders and partners to rapidly improve outcomes across the school
- Further develop good links with parents, governors and the community
- Celebrate and develop the achievements of pupils and staff
- Recognise and celebrate the cultural diversity of the school and the community it serves
- Demonstrate a commitment to a model of distributed leadership
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to social inclusion and provide inspiration to pupils and families
- Develop and strengthen an innovative approach to a broad and balanced curriculum
Governors are seeking an ambitious candidate with outstanding professional, management skills. The successful candidate will be fully committed to providing the best education possible for all pupils within a culture of continuous improvement. They will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and staff through working closely with relevant agencies.
The school is currently LA maintained but is due to become an Academy in the near future and the successful candidate will be expected to facilitate the smooth transition to academisation. The Governors are hoping that the successful candidate will take up the post from 01 September 2017
