Job overview
Following the retirement of our current Headteacher the governing body is seeking to appoint a new Headteacher for September 2020. It is expected that the new Headteacher will show strong leadership skills and manage a team of highly motivated and enthusiastic staff, to ensure the needs of our students are met and provided with the best education.
Academy@Worden is a successful and popular 11-16 stand-alone secondary academy. The academy has an excellent local reputation and has been oversubscribed for a number of years. It was judged again as good by OFSTED, in January 2020 and has the best Progress 8 score of any school in the area.
The academy is holding open days to visit on Monday 2nd March and Monday 9th March and we would ask candidates to make appointments should they wish to visit. On 1st February 2013, Worden was recognised by the Department for Education for its achievements in educational standards and became Leyland’s only Converter Academy (an academy that does not require support from a sponsor). As Leyland’s premier academy, we are very proud of the fact that our students continually raise the bar and achieve new heights.
