About the School:

Oswaldtwistle School is an 11-16 short stay school (PRU) providing education and support for boys and girls experiencing social, emotional, mental health needs/or with medical needs. 

This Secondary Short Stay School and Pupil Referral Service serves East Lancashire. The school provides an alternative education for young people who are temporary unable to access mainstream education. Our aim is to meet the varied learning needs of all our pupils and prepare them to succeed when they move on.

About the Opportunity:

The Management Committee are seeking an experienced and ambitious practitioner to lead Oswaldtwistle School and to further improve the high quality of education and support provided for vulnerable pupils. You will be responsible for leading the School through an exciting stage of further development, enhancing recent achievements and improvements which supported the School secure a Good Ofsted judgement at our last inspection. 

The school provides an exciting and vibrant environment, which is constantly evolving due to the commitment of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), management committee and dedication of the staff.   

Leading this school will require the successful candidate to continue to inspire pupils and staff, work in close partnership with families and stakeholders and have the drive to ensure every pupil succeeds, despite the challenges they have encountered. We are looking for a leader who can build upon our achievements and communicate a clear shared vision for the future of Oswaldtwistle School.

This is an extremely fulfilling opportunity, to impact and shape the Education and development of pupils who have previously struggled with mainstream education, improving achievement and outcomes to support their future success.
