Headteacher

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious school leader to be our new Headteacher from September 2017.

Ridgewood is a very successful secondary special school for pupils and students with a wide range of learning difficulties and disabilities. Our school is well established in the local and regional community, and we work particularly closely with families. Pupils come from Burnley and neighbouring districts.

Our school is modern and purpose-built, on a spacious site, co-located with a popular secondary school. We take pride in providing a lively environment, where everyone is enthusiastic about learning. Staff are dedicated to meeting the individual needs of pupils and in developing their ability to grow into capable and resourceful young adults.

We are looking for a leader with the following qualities:

• vision to lead the school's future development
• passion to drive forward continuous improvement
• strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate
• knowledge and understanding of the wide range of needs of pupils and students.

Proposed interview date: Wednesday 18 January 2017, with a formal pre-interview visit to the school on Tuesday 17 January.
