Job overview

We are an Ofsted Requires Improvement and SIAMS Good Primary School in Surrey with a diverse range of children. Our town includes areas of relative deprivation and growing minority ethnicities and we are passionate about all aspects of inclusion. We are two-form entry, with a Nursery, Children’s Centre, COIN Centre and Nurture Group.

We have transformed behaviour, created strong leadership teams, driven up standards, and implemented curriculum changes. The governors now seek an inspirational Headteacher to embed and build on this foundation, taking us from Requires Improvement to an Outstanding establishment.

We are looking for:

  • someone who has the drive and determination to continue the journey to delivering better for every single child;
  • someone to lead us to “Outstanding” and to becoming the school of choice for our whole community;
  • someone to empower and nurture our staff.

You will be:

  • passionate, resilient, approachable;
  • with a heart for inclusion;
  • able to work with our Christian values;
  • knowledgeable and visionary;
  • determined with us to achieve the best for every child no matter what their start in life.

We offer:

  • a large, committed, and highly skilled staff;
  • a very strong senior leadership team;
  • friendly pupils, a warm and welcoming environment, and our values underpinning everything we do;
  • a commitment to CPD for all staff;
  • still-new purpose-built buildings and large grounds and healthy finances;
  • strong ecumenical local church support;
  • fresh challenges faced every day by our complex organisation and the community we serve.

About Leatherhead Trinity School and Nursery

Leatherhead Trinity School is a happy, busy and thriving school. One of our biggest assets at Leatherhead Trinity is our strong and committed team of staff.

A large staff team with a variety of expertise and skills provides great flexibility in meeting the needs of all pupils individually.

The school also has a senior leadership team focused on direct interaction with parents and are very accessible.

We believe that strong, positive partnerships between staff, parents and pupils are central to the process of enabling each child to achieve well at school.

Leatherhead Trinity School is a voluntary controlled school with an ecumenical foundation of three churches: Anglican, Methodist and United Reformed. The school will benefit from their support and they will work to promote the open and inclusive education that is the key to every child’s future. The churches will support the school to provide spiritual nurture for all children. Whilst promoting Christian values, families from all faiths and backgrounds are welcome at Leatherhead Trinity School and Children’s Centre.
